75 YEARS OF ICONIC PORSCHE COLOR
The Porsche x Backdrop 75th anniversary collection includes four iconic colors, selected from a Porsche color library steeped in heritage. Each of these four colors speaks to a specific moment in the Porsche history and embodies the cultural narrative of the time of their introduction. IRISH GREEN made its debut with the 356C in 1964 and the first 911, SPEED YELLOW was introduced alongside the 1991 911, RIVIERA BLUE was developed in 1994 and has been seen on the 911, 928, and 968 models, and RUBY STAR dating back to 1991 and seen on Porsche 911, 928 and 944.

Irish Green, a color as timeless as the sports car itself, has been a part of Porsche's legacy since the early 1960s. Irish Green also has the distinction of being Wolfgang Porsche’s favorite. First seen on the 356C in 1964, it quickly became a favorite among Porsche enthusiasts and adorned the original 911. Classic and elegant, Irish Green has remained a constant in the Porsche palette, even gracing the millionth 911 produced in 2017, further cementing its place in Porsche's storied history. The IRISH GREEN 1967 Porsche 911 Targa S holds a significant place in Porsche's history. This is the car that introduced the Targa concept, named after the Targa Florio road race in Sicily. Originally named Rubystone Red, it was later renamed Ruby Star, adding to its allure. This Porsche 911 is inspired by the Porsche 953 that participated in the prestigious Paris-Dakar Rally, an iconic off-road endurance race that covers thousands of kilometers across various landscapes, including deserts, mountains, and rough terrains. The rally began in Paris, France, and concluded in Dakar, Senegal.
Porsche Riviera Blue

This vibrant yellow first appeared on the Porsche 911 in 1991. Not for the shy or Sunday driver, the color is distinctly tied to the sports car and the Porsche brand and embodies the fast times of the early 1990s. Vibrant colors also have a special place in racing history, race cars in the 1960s were often painted bright colors such as yellow to be more visible to spectators. It’s bright without being blindingly so, warm without being searing.
